Samsung introduced a working device with a flexible display

The South Korean corporation has already quite a long time introduced its flexible displays to the world, though without reference to a specific device. The other day, the company showed the first working mobile phone (noname), with a flexible display. True, if you expect that the phone can be folded several times and stuffed into a wallet, then these hopes are in vain. The flexible display was only enough to bend its edges on the phone.

Actually, this can be considered an achievement, since the display, as far as one can judge, is of high quality. According to the developers, such a bend, in theory, can be used to read notifications and text messages if the phone is covered with a cover. In general, interesting, but not very practical yet.

The presented device is more likely a photo frame than a phone, since there is no radio module, no OS, no camera, or other functions specific to a mobile device. Perhaps in the near future, Samsung will demonstrate a more practical concept.

Nevertheless, the appearance of a working concept is pleasing - after all, one can expect the appearance of smartphones / tablets with displays that do not break when dropped. I would very much hope that such devices will appear later this year.
