Mozilla has released the final release of Firefox OS Simulator 1.0

The Firefox OS operating system is getting closer to the release stage, and before the OS was released, Mozilla announced the official release of Firefox OS Simulator 1.0. Previously, a beta version was released, but only now the authors of the project presented the final release of the Firefox OS simulator, intended primarily for third-party developers. According to representatives of the Firefox OS team, developers who want to write applications for the new OS right now, before its appearance, need the simulator.

It is worth noting that Firefox OS is based on the Gecko web browser engine, and is written (or rather, is still being written) in HTML5. Of course, the platform of this OS is the browser of the same name, which will allow you to run all kinds of web applications for work and entertainment. The following video shows the simulator:

The project of creating a new OS is supported by many large companies that manufacture mobile devices, as well as telecom operators. Not least because Firefox OS developers will open all the specifications. Plus, the Web APIs will also be open.

One of the most active participants in the project is Telefonica. In addition, companies such as Deutsche Telekom, Etisalat, Smart, Sprint, Telecom Italia, Telefonica and Telenor do not stand aside. These companies are going to introduce new devices with Firefox OS on board. At the same time, manufacturers promise that such devices will be relatively inexpensive and affordable.

The development team of the new OS promises that this software platform will be optimally suited for budget devices, since work with the hardware goes directly. The simulator itself is available here .
