Vice.com declassifies John McAfee's location via EXIF metadata

Computer geek, inventor and millionaire John McAfee, author of the eponymous antivirus McAfee, is now on the run, hiding from the Belizean government. Despite the accusations of murder, John remained many loyal friends and fans. For example, the journalists of Vice spent four days in the secret refuge of the fugitive - and published a photo taken on the iPhone.
Unfortunately, the comrades forgot one important detail that the iPhone stores in GPS metadata coordinates. They quickly changed the photo, posted a version with erased EXIF fields, but it was too late . The metadata coordinates indicated Guatemala.
Today, John McAfee published “repentance” on his website, allegedly he specifically faked “XIF”(UPD 05.12: page deleted).
I must say that the EXIF fake with the expectation that no one will believe in his confession about the EXIF fake is a trick in the spirit of old McAfee. He is known for similar jokes and trolling. Previously, he spread false information about himself and his place of residence, set up a false page on Facebook and other sites. Even here, he could specifically say “XIF” to create the appearance of an illiterate. Thus, McAfee pours fog and sweeps traces.
As for the murder, there is every reason to doubt the justice of the charges. The fact is that the Belizean authorities have repeatedly extorted money from various American political campaigns from the American millionaire living there, and in case of refusal they threatened reprisal. In May 2012, they stormed McAfee’s estate andarrested him on false charges . Unfortunately, John is forced to live in Latin America and cannot return to the United States, where he is threatened with lawsuits from victims of aerial tracking - an extreme sport he invented.
UPD 05.12. John McAfee confirmed his whereabouts in Guatemala, deleted the “remorse” page from the site, and scheduled a press conference.
UPD 06.12. John McAfee arrested in Guatemala for illegally crossing the border.
