Android smartphone with e-ink: a week without recharging
Readers on electronic paper are already widespread - their screens can be annoyingly slow, but they do not fade in the sun and consume a minimum of energy, spending it only on updating pages. As a matter of fact, it’s even strange that before we were not offered phones with such screens, which is now compensated by the Chinese office of Onyx International, having released the first Android smartphone with e-ink.
The Android interface, of course, is heavily modified to fit the black-and-white screen, and I must admit that most of the “user experience” related to graphics has disappeared - with e-ink you will have to forget about YouTube and Angry Birds.
But for mail, the Internet, Facebook and Foursquare it is quite suitable. Yes, and you can use it in any light, but such a smartphone lives on one charge for a WEEK (at first the creators talked about the month, but then it was prudently reduced the forecast).
