The crippled bald eagle received a new beak, printed on a 3D printer



    It is gratifying to hear that high technology comes to the rescue not only of people, but also of animals, in particular birds. So, recently the story of the bald eagle Beauty, which received a new beak created on a 3D printer, spread across the Web. The specialists had to make a lot of efforts to create such a specific prosthesis, but it all ended very well.

    By the way, a whole team of specialists worked on the creation of the prosthesis, including engineers, scientists and dentists. It is worth noting that this is the first such beak prosthesis in the world, so the eagle rescue team can be pleased. The prosthesis material is nylon derivatives. A “beak” was created in the CAD editor, and after that it was printed on a 3D printer, as indicated in the header.



    The process of attaching the prosthesis took about two hours, and now the eagle can drink and eat on its own. Previously, the bird was fed and watered manually. The poacher crippled the eagle, who shot the bird in the head. Unfortunately, the eagle will not be able to return to the natural environment, but in captivity the bird has created all the conditions for a normal life. A new beak will ensure a normal life. Now the eagle is in a place called Birds of Prey Northwest (something like a nursery).
