Valve takes on iron

In the vacancy, the "industrial designer" on her website Valve finally confirmed what many have been talking about lately - the intention to start producing computer hardware. Valve bluntly says: "We are disappointed with the lack of innovation in the field of computer hardware, so we get down to business."

The position says that “even the simplest controls, keyboard and mouse, have not changed significantly over the past years,” but the company does not indicate exactly what kind of equipment the designer will work on. It also literally indicates the following

There is a real void in the market, and opportunities to create a new user experience go unnoticed.

According to rumors, Valve is preparing to release its game console for the Steam platform (the so-called Steam Box), but the company itself rejects them and says that it has no plans in this matter “for the near future”. The idea behind the Steam Box is easy to guess - if the rumors are true, then Valve wants to become an exemplary analogue of Google and Android in the mobile world, laying the foundations and guaranteeing the growth of an open gaming ecosystem based on Steam that goes beyond personal computers. Thus, the company will immediately open a new direction for itself outside the ever-diminishing market for computer games and bite off a piece of the huge pie that now belongs to game consoles.
