Yotaphone

Following the news coming from IFA, threatening, like in a cornucopia, to shower super-mega consumers with cool devices in the coming months, I get acquainted with the three phone models that Nokia recently launched on the Russian market. These are Nokia Asha 305, 306, and 311. I’m planning to write about these models later, but for now I’ve thought about the segment of simple phones and came up with a device that, in my opinion, would be in demand by many consumers, especially in connection with the growing number of all kinds of smart phones. gadgets, each of which submit Wi-Fi, or a SIM card.

For the design sample, I took the simplest model of the phone, Nokia 1280. I came up with the idea that the user with the main phone should have just such a simple dialer. But! - Naturally, there are several BUT. Firstly, this dialer must support SD and microSD cards with hot swap. That is, in fact, the phone must also be a card reader. And the flash memory in it should be solid: 32-64 GB. That is, in addition to the dialer and card reader, this phone will also serve as the main mobile and non-cloud flash drive - you never know what, and sometimes you don’t want to keep everything in the cloud. Naturally, the phone should have a microUSB connector, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a flashlight. But there will be no camera in this phone at all.

But it will support 3G + LTE and Wi-Fi Hotspot. That is, in addition to the dialer, card reader and flash drive, this phone will also be the main mobile router that distributes Wi-Fi to those devices that you took with you. Thus, the user will not need to buy a SIM card for each device, and then also pay for them. Yes, and smart devices themselves can be purchased without support for 3G and LTE, which will be much cheaper.

Naturally, such a phone should have a sufficiently capacious battery. Its capacity should ideally be enough for 20 hours in Wi-Fi Hotspot mode. Well, the contact list should accommodate two thousand two contacts. Plus an FM radio, a player and a minimalistic file manager, controlled by arrow buttons and receive-end buttons - this is for using the device as a card reader.

Given that Yota provides a more or less normal LTE signal in Moscow, I thought that such a phone could appear under this brand. I think the appearance of such a device would at least increase the sales of Yota routers.
