Are you ready to run through the desert for a better life?

A person always has a choice: to leave everything as it is, or to do otherwise. Life is a funny thing, but sometimes the consequences of choice are fatal. But sooner or later you have to make a choice.

On my trip to the USA, I stopped by my friend. He lives in a small town in New York State. There, at a local store, I met several Mexicans, whose courage and determination are simply amazing.

Everyone knows that in Mexico there is a very large gap between the rich and the poor. People are actually exploited in factories and paid them pennies. So: these people took the challenge and made, perhaps, the most decisive choice in their life.

Rigoberto Ortego, a cheerful 30 year old Mexican who speaks English without accent. At the age of 12, he and his two brothers fled from Mexico to the USA through the desert at night. One of them was bullied by a coyote (I didn’t understand exactly which animal, but most likely it was a coyote), the other could not stand the 7-hour run and “fell behind”.

Rigo now receives $ 3400 per month and is the head of the kosher products store. His life has changed for the better, he has a family and children. However, he was able to take that step, which is not easy to take.

Michael , when you see this person, the first thing that comes to mind is he is a mafia. The whole body is covered with scars and tattoos, many of them are brought together by a cigarette. As he told me, he was in a gang and they did a lot of bad things. According to him, otherwise - do not earn.

But he wanted a quiet life and family. He had to escape from the gang, all the scars are a “gift” from his former friends. He made tattoos personally, in order to part with the past.

Now he is the owner of a local Mexican food home restaurant, and believe me, he loves his job.

Pablo is perhaps the most difficult choice made by a man who loves his family. He works at a kosher food store. Such a kind and hardworking man of 60 years. He always worked when I saw him.

His wife had an accident and became disabled, while he had two children. He found a way to raise his children and give them the best. At the age of 27, he left illegally in the USA and began to work. He sends almost the entire salary to his wife and children in Mexico.

33 years have passed since the accident, and he still sends money from month to month to his wife and children. And he himself while sleeping on bags of vegetables, holding in his hand a photograph of his wife. He found a way to save them, not the easiest, but he found it.

At the same time, I saw typical Americans who complain about “bad work” and simply refuse to work, and take unemployment benefits. They do not want to change their lives, they are not striving for anything. And it's really scary.

I very often see articles / questions on the hub that are published by people who believe in themselves. They want to change their lives for the better, that's good.

You have a long way to go, full of doubts, but you must do it. You need to go to your dream, no matter what others tell you. And remember: “There is always a choice!”
