For what I do not like Habr

This post will probably be strange. The point is not that I have nothing to write about, but the fact that having spent a year at the hub, a lot of impressions have accumulated. I learned a lot, found, came up with thanks to Habr and his community. But there are things that just piss me off. This post about what is a habr for me.

Honey

I wanted to get on a habr since I learned about the site. Moreover, I did not want to buy or beg someone to invite. I wanted to write a post about what is really interesting. Earn the right to be part of the site. So I wrote about Openbravo POS and got a privilege that I considered something good. It is a pity that I have few topics that I am well versed in; I don’t have the talent to write beautifully and on business. In addition, many ideas are hatched in the head and remain either in their projects, or are thrown somewhere in the trash, like defective ones.
So, what are the pros of Habr? The main thing is that it is interesting to read. Read what you want, take part in discussions, advise, learn. Habr has good authority on the Internet, therefore, written posts can be read not only here, but also on other popular sites, where the post is then copied (moreover, more often I see below a link to the hub or to the one who wrote, which is just wonderful). The fact that the administrators have created something more than just a site, rather, an organism, which in itself can grow and develop.
But on this I will stop to pay attention to the shortcomings.

Tar

Karma

I always liked the idea of ​​karma. Karma controls users within the community. But often, users use rights inexplicably. I understand that everyone can give out pluses to karma to everyone or minus, but sometimes users are minus for nothing.
Example: I wrote some comment that collected more than 50 pluses. Karma did not increase, but decreased. What is the reason for this? Those who particularly disagree with the opinion understand that minus the statement will not do anything, but it’s better to blame karma. Thus, the rating quickly drops from seemingly harmless words. The rest do not see, and the author receives slaps.

Rating

The rating is not only considered incomprehensible as (no transparent system, at least not found), it still jumps depending on karma in different directions. There still seems to be a correction in activity, but everything is somehow strange.
In any case, I rarely look at him both at home and at others, so I won’t swear much.

Hubs

I got confused with the innovations, I had to subscribe and re-subscribe somewhere. I still don’t remember what changed, unlike what happened, but I remembered well what body movements had to be done.

Drafts

I can’t delete any drafts and don’t know what to do with them. Perhaps somewhere there is a secret entrance to the narnia, where a small, frightened little digger delete is hidden behind a stone, but I do not have such perfect vision to find it.

It’s interesting, but I’ll end with the minuses, because I don’t like Habr more because there is not too much for my satisfaction.

What am I missing

I don’t have enough space, I just don’t leave some comments, because this does not correspond to the majority opinion , which means that this is not normal. I understand that all people have always wanted to break and rule those who disagree in order to drag him into their circle, but you need to do something about it.

I do not have enough time line in which I could follow how a person behaved on a hub Now I’ll explain everything on my fingers: a person wrote a good post (or even more than one good one), but his karma is clearly underestimated. But to understand why is impossible. I would like to see how karma changed at one time or another. Ideally, display also published posts and comments. After all, karma staggers thanks to the actions of the user. Thus, it will be possible to quickly find good posts in a person, look at his history and draw normal conclusions.

I don’t have enough votes, I can’t give two pluses to karma to a person. Six months ago, I increased karma to that. Today he wrote an excellent post, for which I would like to give him another plus, but it’s already impossible. And I already forget what exactly and when I voted. Keep notes? Well, excuse me, not accustomed.

I do not have enough normal words! Habrludi, Habrtopics, Habr community, Habrbukva, Habrstrana, Habrchtoto. All this is in the rights of the creators, I am not too negative towards this, but sometimes annoying.

I lack the normal ability to report an error in a word or phrase to the author. We have to write a proposal, select the right place, indicate which topic it belongs to. He, in turn, must open the post, edit it, look for a place with an error and, only now, edit. Has anyone really thought about this for so many years?

I am missing settings. Seriously. I almost always read particularly ragged comments. When you have tea in one hand, in the other buter, you turn the page with one foot, you drive the cat away from the buter with the other, and it is problematic to read the comment without pointing at it. Everything could be fixed with just one item in the settings. It went from Linux, probably. Now I want more and more optional and customizable for everyone.

Instead of leaving in English

Am I afraid of losing karma? Not anymore, I used to cherish her like the apple of an eye, now I don’t give a damn, most importantly, to be in the black. And if not, in order to write a good post, I can always send it to the sandbox.

Why am I just not leaving the habr? Because I like it here and I would like it to get better.

Why did I write this post, but did not shut up in a rag, did not send recommendations to support mail? Because these are my thoughts, my arguments, and writing them is not forbidden. In addition, I know that there are more healthy and intelligent people on the hub than I, who can correctly supplement or adequately criticize me.
