Google TV will begin to be sold not only in the United States

Google has officially announced that its Google TV set-top box will soon be sold outside the United States. In general, there are quite a lot of gadget lovers who were expecting this moment. True, you can’t wait for this joy in Russia: first Google TV will be sold in the UK (starting July 16th), and after a while - in France, the Netherlands, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Brazil and Australia. Nothing is known about the CIS countries.

The Google TV model was called Sony NSZ-GS7, and if you do not want to wait until the prefix still appears, you can pre-order in the online store of the Japanese corporation. It is worth noting that some time later (approximately in the middle of autumn) a new Google TV model, Sony NSZ-GS9, will appear on sale. The difference of this model is in the addition of some functions, plus a Blu-ray player.

As for the cost, Google TV No. 1, so to speak, will be sold at a price of 200 euros. An advanced model, Google TV No. 2, will cost $ 299. It is worth noting that the device was first introduced back in 2010, and to date, these devices were sold only in the United States. Of course, Android OS works here as the management software.

The set-top box, as expected, expands the functionality of a conventional TV. With Google TV, you can turn a TV into a kind of PC. So, Google TV allows you to watch videos on the Web, work with a browser, run Android applications. For the convenience of working with Google TV, there is a remote control with a touchpad on one side, and a fully functional keyboard on the other.
