All applications for new top-level domains published
Today, ICANN has published a complete list of applications for new top-level domains.
In total, 1930 applications were filed for 1409 domain names. The total cost of all applications amounted to 350 million dollars (the cost of one application is $ 185,000). Two or more applicants have applied for 230 domain names.
1846 applications were submitted by community representatives, 66 applications were “geographical”, i.e. they are filed by representatives of cities, regions, etc.
116 applications were submitted for IDN domains, i.e. non-latin domain names.
Most of the applications ICANN received from North America - 911. From Europe, 675 applications were submitted, from Asia and Oceania - 303 applications. The smallest applications were submitted from the South American and African regions - 24 and 17 applications, respectively. Their authors can not worry about the result of the Digital Archery procedure - their applications will be guaranteed to be considered during the first round.
The most popular domains were:
.APP (13 applicants); .HOME and .INC (11 applicants); .ART (10 applicants); .BLOG, .LLC, .BOOK, .HOTEL (including .HOTELS) and .SHOP (including .SHOPPING) (9 applicants); .DESIGN, .MOVIE and .MUSIC (8 applicants) ;. LTD, .NEWS, .NOW and .STORE (7 applicants).
8 applications were submitted for Russian-speaking domains, of which three (.KIDS, .MOSCOW, .RUS) belong to Russian companies, the rest (. SITE, .ONLINE, .KOM, .ORG, .KATOLIK) - to foreign organizations.
Also, applications for .SKOLKOVO, .GDN, .YANDEX, .MOSCOW and .TATAR domains have been submitted from Russia.
