Windows on Macs: Not Uncommon

Yesterday I stumbled upon Parallels statistics, which was inherently killer, but plausible, IMHO,: it turns out that a third of Apple computer users in Russia regularly use Windows on their Macs. The quickly interviewed personal environment of the makovods confirmed this astronomical fact. It says that in the United States about one in twelve users of the Macs needs Windows. From the document and the infographic accompanying it, you can understand a couple of things:
- In Russia, Mac users cannot refuse Windows, even sitting on the Mac, and there are an abnormally many such users.
- Even with similar Mac software, Apple computer users often prefer to use Windows software.
A couple more thoughts and a big picture with the results of the study - under the cut.
Perhaps I will not dwell on how this is possible. Another thing is interesting: why do Mac users ignore the native counterparts of Windows applications? The authors of the study cite figures illustrating the sympathies of macroweders for specific Windows programs. 51% use MS Office and its open source counterpart (OpenOffice), 39% need IE, 29% use Macs on Windows, and 17% run graphical applications. If you look at the picture below, you can see that the same Photoshop - an application that was originally made for Mac back in the 1980s - launches almost a quarter of users on Windows.
Still curious was the statistics on the use of BootCamp. 40% of users are bored of rebooting, and they drag and drop Windows into the virtual machine. For the rest, see for yourself.
And yet ... Is the majority stupidly lazy to look for an analogue and use what it’s used to? What is the truth?
