Hack Opera on Hack2own!

Competitions for hacking browsers are justifiably of great interest to the public - for some this is a chance to make sure that choosing the most secure browser for everyday work was right, for some, the results of the competition give arguments for forum browser wars, and someone modestly receives an impressive monetary prize for a vulnerability discovered in the browser. Unfortunately, for unknown reasons, the organizers of such competitions have not yet considered the Opera browser as an object of hacking, but this misunderstanding will be corrected in the coming days.
We are pleased to announce that now everyone can try to hack Opera and get a well-deserved award at the Hack2own competition , which will be held in Moscow on May 30 and 31 as part of the international forum on practical safetyPositive Hack Days , organized by Positive Technologies. The contestants will have the opportunity to test the strengths of popular browsers both in a frontal attack and using plug-in gaps.
The Hack2own browser hacking competition will consist of three stages.
In the first round, participants will try to exploit vulnerabilities in the latest stable versions of the popular Google Chrome browsers 19.0.1084, Opera 11.64, Mozilla Firefox 12 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.
In the second round, you can try your hand at earlier versions of Google Chrome 16/17 browsers / 18/19, Opera 11.64 / 11.60, Mozilla Firefox 10/11/12, Microsoft Internet Explorer 8/9 and Apple Safari 5.0 / 5.1.1 / 5.1.2.
In the third roundOperation of the latest versions of typical third-party components for browsers is allowed: Adobe Flash Player (11.2.202.235), Adobe Reader (10.1.3), Java (7 update 4). The list of browsers is identical to that in the second round.
For the victory in each of the rounds, monetary rewards were assigned:
For the victory in the first round - 137,000 rubles .
For the victory in the second round - 75 137 rubles .
For victory in the third round - 50 137 rubles .
Pre-registered specialists are allowed to the competition. Applications are accepted at phdcontests@ptsecurity.ru (registration end date is May 28, 2012). In addition to browsers, the Hack2own competition will also include hacking competitions for mobile devices and operating systems.
