1366 × 768px bypasses 1024 × 768px in the list of most popular screen resolutions

The analytical company StatCounter provides important information for web developers and designers: for the first time, the most popular screen resolution in the world was 1366 × 768px, which overtook the previous leader 1024 × 768px.

From March 2009 to March 2012, the proportion of screens with a resolution of 1024 × 768 fell from 41.8% to 18.6%. Over the same period, the share of 1366 × 768px increased from 0.68% to 19.28%.

You can add to the StatCounter data that the situation with the screen resolution is very different for each site. For example, on sites for professionals (design, programming, etc.) it is logical to assume that 1024x768 ceased to be a leader a few years ago, because screens of higher resolution are better suited for professional use .
