Kickstrap - fork Twitter Bootstrap with themes and bonuses

    image
Kickstrap is what will happen if you combine Twitter Bootstrap , HTML5 Boilerplate , icons from IcoMoon and Font Awesome , add proven jQuery plugins Chosen and jGrowl , include support for different color schemes and themes of Bootswatch , additional CSS mesh and sane support for early versions of IE.

The project is distinguished from the standard Twitter Bootstrap by a greenish color scheme by default, additional javascript plugins for creating friendly drop-down lists Chosen ( demo in Kickstrap ) and jGrowl, which displays messages in the browser just like Growl in MacOSX (demo in Kickstrap ).

The HTML5 bulletproof HTML5 Boilerplate template , with all the resulting crossdomain.xml settings, working with Modernizr and the build script, was taken as the HTML base .

Kickstrap is perfectly styled (with a variety of themes ), now there are 12 + standard green. Support for themes for the project is adapted from https://github.com/thomaspark/bootswatch , the theme itself is connected with the corresponding .less file.

Support for the OLCG grid (One Line CSS Grid) is also added to the project , which contains only 3 classes - oh = “One half”, ot = “One third” and tt = “Two thirds”, but at the same time supports nesting, different browsers and screen sizes. Grid demonstrationAll these features are excellent.

Instead of Glyphicons, Kickstrap uses Awesome Icons and IcoMoon.

To support IE 6, the Bootstrap-IE6 project development , which was originally made for Twitter Bootstrap v2 itself, is used.

The project is quite actively developing and supporting new versions of the original Bootstrap, and Kickstrap 0.9 RC is already planned for April 15th.
