Strange and unusual alarm clock from Archos

Somehow it so happened that now more and more devices are being computerized and Internetized. On Habré often joke about this kind of device, mentioning the irons connected to the Network and other household appliances. Iron is not an iron, but alarms with their own operating system and network connection really appeared. The authors of these slightly strange hybrid devices are Archos developers.
The alarm clock, if this device can still be called that, has a built-in display with a size of 3.5 inches. Naturally, the ubiquitous Android version 2.2 Froyo is installed as the OS. It is worth noting that many modern mobile devices will envy the configuration of the alarm clock.

Here we have a TI OMAP3630 processor with a frequency of 1 GHz. There is 4 GB of internal memory, a front-facing VGA camera (probably to talk to your Skype colleagues early in the morning). In addition, there is a slot for microSD memory cards, as well as a Wi-Fi wireless module. Actually, this is a full-fledged tablet with a small display and with a case that is not very comfortable to wear.
Interestingly, the developers connected the device to their own Archos AppsLib application store, removing the Android Market. The alarm clock also boasts a pre-installed browser and email client.

Actually, the device is really strange. Do you think this and similar devices will become popular? Personally, it seems to me that the alarm clock will find a very limited number of buyers in the face of very fanatical geeks.
