Vox.io - a new look at the idea of Skype
So, Vox.io is a service that allows you to call mobile numbers and accounts of Vox.io itself directly from the browser (both with video and without). And also make group calls (read, newsgroups), calls to e-mail (below) and send sms. Perhaps while I was writing, something else appeared - the project is very lively.
On average, the price of calls in Russia is 2 rubles for a subscription and 4 rubles for “just calls”. Upon registration, you will immediately be given 10 rubles (25 euro cents), and for each invitee they will be charged another 6 rubles (15 euro cents).
Below I will talk in more detail about the 3 main usefulnesses of Vox.io that hooked me.
Actually, the calls themselves. You indicate the phone number (with the country code) or the name of the user, press Enter , and call. The quality of communication suits me quite well, the prices are at the level of local operators.
As mentioned above, standard calls (without a subscription) are charged at 4 rubles per minute. Calls between users are naturally free. Extremely simple, convenient and understandable.
All calls come from the number associated with the account, so the recipient of the call does not notice anything unusual. The limit of attached numbers is not announced (or it simply is not).
A letter comes to the person with the button, the person presses the button, allows the flash to use the microphone / camera, rings.
Along the way, you can turn on / off the camera, adjust the quality of the video, etc.
The potential use of this terribly useful feature is limited only by imagination. I managed to make it up both for technical support and for simple communication with friends. I am satisfied, I will continue to use it.
They work by analogy with fast ones. That is, a link is generated, and everyone who clicks on it joins your conference.
The maximum that tested is 4 people at a time. The total maximum is not known, I did not find it on the site. With 4 interlocutors, communication goes without bugs (in general), the channel does not particularly load. Reminded of the good old rooms in Skype and Google Hangouts.
I like everything, I recommend it to everyone, and in general I am delighted.
PS The service perfectly pulls up contacts from Gmail and briskly posts “quick calls” to Facebook. If you get carried away, you can transfer half a day to the calls of the curious and "wow, how cool it works." Be careful.
