Birch Pilot Design of Mobile Firefox for Android

Earlier, the Mozilla mobile unit developing a browser for Android used the XUL markup, which is familiar to the desktop version of Firefox, to create the application interface (it is interesting that the Mozilla Foundation is also involved in the XUL project). Now the choice is made in favor of the "native" controls for Android, which should provide a more flexible and responsive interface.

The new design is called Birch, and now the “night assembly” of the application’s APK file with a new design is available on the FTP server , which, of course, is far from ideal for the end user. Interestingly, unlike the tablet version, the developers are designing Birch specifically for the screen sizes of smartphones.

Under the cat are browser screenshots.
