Twenty Beeline Home Internet Facts

Do you know that:
People
- Beeline has over 2,600 installers working in Russia, including 700 in Moscow.
- Installation crews use personal vehicles to move around the city.
- The new installers are usually entrusted with the first floors (the most dreary, given that Beeline equipment is located in the attics) and complex challenges, which helps to quickly weed out those whose nervous system is not strong enough for this job.
- Those who passed the selection, depending on their abilities and personal qualities, earn from 30 to 150 thousand rubles a month.
- A strong nervous system is really needed: on-duty installers are waiting for drives to the police (as a rule, based on “there are some terrorists climbing into the attic with suitcases”), dead homeless people in the attics (well, at least not zombies), threats of beatings (real case: the installer was caught in the clutches of rather specific characters, and he had to prove with a knife attached to his throat that he really, really only got the Internet here, and had not heard of any dark affairs) and even the harassment of elderly nymphs decoys (which the next day can order IPTV and ask to send the same installer).
- The installer will receive payment for his work only when the client connected to him puts the money on his balance for the first time. If two months after the estimated date of connecting money from the client did not come, the installer will never be paid for it :-(
- Speaking of money: the connection for the client is strictly free. Particularly inventive installers, who hang noodles on customers' ears and take money from them for connection, are waiting for a refund to the client, a fine of 6 thousand rubles and dismissal with shame. Big brother is watching you, bro.
- Beeline has two levels of technical support: for normal people and for dummies. There is also a secret, third level for full humanities, but it is paid.
Equipment
- Beeline is, to put it mildly, a key buyer of cable from several factories in China.
- Twisted pair is centrally imported from China to Moscow, and then transported to the regions - it's cheaper!
- The cost of buying a twisted pair cable is about 98% of all costs for goods and materials used to connect customers.
- Beeline only buys copper cable; copper-plated is not used, with the exception of several cities of presence.
- The braid on the cable is pretty tough, but it has its drawbacks: it can withstand only one pull, and then it bursts. So re-stretching the cable if necessary does not work, you have to take a new one.
- Sometimes equipment from the attics is stolen. What is characteristic, this is mainly traded not by homeless people or drug addicts, but by regional brothers in the workshop. This problem is especially acute in the cultural capital.
Process
- In a good way, for a broach you need access to low-current risers at least through one floor. When the risers are locked in the vestibules, and the local population is in no hurry to open them, great difficulties can arise up to the transfer of work to another time. In emergency cases, various improvised means can be used for broaching, but we will not consider them in detail here :-)
- In clinical cases, Beeline builds its risers, but this can negatively affect the strength of the building, so if possible they try to work with any other available means, up to renting a channel space from local providers, if they have already managed to build their riser in this house .
- The average client waiting time from application to connection is about 1 day; This is one of the best indicators in the country if you order a connection on a weekday. It is more difficult with the days off: since ZhEKs do not work on weekends and do not give keys to the attic, it is necessary to come and pre-stretch from the attic to the client’s floor, and connect the client himself already at the second exit on the ordered day. And in order to have time to complete this combination, the order must be left no later than Thursday morning.
- Pre-stretching can also be used if the client needs to be connected in the evening (Beeline officially connects clients from 10:00 to 22:00 throughout the country). The fact is that territorial entities in the Russian Federation have the right to set the time after which noisy work can be carried out and to assign fines to legal entities for non-compliance with this rule.
Habrapost
- Here you can see some dull photos that I clicked from a mobile phone in the process.
- Many thanks to EkaterinaTurtseva for the organized tour and for the help in compiling this report!
Update All information in the post was provided by Beeline employees on excursions ; I am not one. Therefore, I can’t verify the information; I don’t answer questions for technical support. The post was published on the principle of "for what I bought - for that I sell it."
