Microsoft is again negotiating the purchase of Yahoo

So far, this is only preliminary data, but some sources, including BusinessInsider, claim that Microsoft is again negotiating with Yahoo. The essence of the negotiations is the purchase of the entire company. Thus, the Redmond giant is again returning to the essence of the 2008 negotiations. It was then that Jeffrey Young, a former Yahoo CEO, refused, and since then the company began to have problems. It is worth recalling that while Microsoft was offering 44.6 billion dollars for Yahoo, this amount at that time exceeded the real value of the company. Now Yahoo’s capitalization is $ 18.6 billion.

On Habré information was already published that after Bartz left the post of CEO of the company, several parties appeared at once interested in buying all of Yahoo’s assets or a certain part of the company. Among others, the private investment fund Silver Lake Partners was named. So far, the company does not deny the possibility of selling its assets, but Yahoo representatives believe that there is no hurry.

Joining Microsoft can be beneficial for both companies. For Yahoo, this means the end of all problems - both financial and structural. Most likely, Microsoft already accurately represents how Yahoo assets can be used with maximum expediency. For Microsoft, such a purchase means the acquisition of several interesting projects, plus a fairly significant share of traffic.

Generally speaking, over the past couple of years Microsoft has received several profitable partners at once, plus I bought several services that the corporation needs. The main purchase, of course, remains Skype. In addition, Microsoft was able to negotiate a long-term strategic partnership with Nokia. If Microsoft nevertheless buys Yahoo, then the corporation will become stronger than ever.
