How NASA processes images received by the Hubble telescope - video
Many people believe that thanks to the Hubble telescope in orbit, we get high-quality images of very distant objects of the Universe, which can be seen on the NASA website. In fact, the pictures are of high quality, high resolution. But what Hubble gives out are black and white photographs. Where did all these colors come from that attracted our attention? Almost all of these "prettiness" appear after using a graphical editor. To paraphrase a famous quote, we can say that "Photoshop is NASA's best friend."
In general, this post slightly overlaps with the topic of Mars , which told that the Red Planet, by no means, can look in our firmament, like two full moons.
Most likely, many did not hear about how they receive images of space objects, believing that they are immediately colored and bright. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Below you can watch a video demonstrating how to add color. One can only be surprised at how much time NASA specialists spend on processing images of space objects.
