Monkey Business, or how to use Kinect

    Another project using Microsoft Kinect . I attracted my attention by the fact that its authors, Jen Seeber and Ralph Kistler, went beyond the existing developments and tied the game controller to a real object of reality - to a toy monkey .



    This art installation consists of the following elements: Kinect, which detects human movements, a computer for processing the data received from the camera, and ten sensors attached to the monkey’s metal case. All together and makes it possible for a 75-centimeter monkey to clearly repeat human movements.



    According to the authors, this work in such an ironic form shows the current state of art. The English expression "Monkey business" corresponds to the Russian "Monkey work". In general, everyone will draw conclusions himself ...
