LED lamps in Japan
In November 2017, I visited Tokyo and, of course, went to several shops to see how things are going on with LED lamps. Everything turned out to be completely different from what was expected.
We are used to the fact that Japan is at the forefront of technological progress, but as it turned out, not in light bulbs. The shops are full of ordinary incandescent bulbs.
They cost relatively cheap: 20, 40, 60 W at 214 yen (~ 120 rubles) apiece. Freely sold incandescent bulbs at 100, 150, 200 watts.
But the prices for LED lamps by our standards are completely insane. Panasonic lamps equivalent to 60 W - 2780 yen (~ 1600 rubles per item), equivalent to 40 W 1680 yen (~ 970 rubles).
Slightly cheaper than Mitsubishi - the equivalent of 40 W 1270 yen (~ 730 rubles).
Hitachi equivalent of 60 watts 1460 yen (~ 840 rubles). Equivalent to 100 W of brand E-Bright 2670 yen (~ 1540 rubles).
The cheapest LED lamps I've ever seen cost 1380 yen per pair (~ 400 rubles apiece).
There are very few filament lamps and they are very expensive.
In general, surprisingly, the assortment of LED lamps in Russia is much wider and more modern than in Japan and they cost significantly less.
