Apple Developers Community Meeting Report # 5
On May 26, the fifth meeting of the Apple Developers Community took place. A new place, new faces, but the same concept: rob the rich, give the poor professionals share their experiences with participants in the development of iPhone and iPad.

As always, with a slight delay, we make a report and upload video reports with text decryption.
Under the cat you will find a point-to-point overview of Xcode 4 from Alexander Cherny , a demonstration of all appCode chips from the creator, Maxim Shafirov . And for dessert - a presentation by Roman Chernyshev with a story about the features of developing enterprise applications.
Presentation and decoding
Alexander Cherny ( alexchernyy ) opened the meeting with an overview of the fourth version of Xcode. He spoke about the features of the new interface: Jump bar, which allows you to quickly run around the code, a new level of the workspace hierarchy, a beautiful blue mesh in Interface Builder, and much, much more. Alexander paid a lot of attention to refactoring, which Xcode always had problems with.
And then I should finish a brief review of Alexander's report, but I can’t say a few words about the prepared presentation. Although a couple of words is clearly not enough for me, so see for yourself one of the slides.

Decoding
The next was our special guest from jetBrains - Maxim Shafirov . He talked about the AppCode editor, which has been developing for over 10 years and is almost the only alternative to Xcode. There was no release yet, so the editor can be downloaded for free from the official site . In the future (in secret) a copy will cost about $ 100.
Maxim demonstrated why it is worth using their product, showed a lot of convenient popups that greatly facilitate navigation and working with code.
Presentation and interpretation
The meeting ended with a speaker from DataArt - Roman Chernyshev . He talked about what each customer wants and how to maintain contact with him through the so-called human interface. How to find him and maintain a relationship with him? How to build a respectful relationship with the boss without stepping over the interface? About this and much more in Roman's report.

I would like to thank DataArt for the provided premises and assistance in installing a teleconference with Voronezh. It was an interesting experience and in the future we will try to expand the boundaries of ADCSpb throughout Russia. Also, thanks to our partners: Business Petersburg and HackDay , for their help in attracting participants.

The sixth ADCSpb meeting will take place in early July. If you want to make a report - write. We are always open to suggestions.

The main goal of AppCode is to think more and work less with your hands.
