A tech support guy installed software clients on a PC to take photos of them secretly

This guy was called to fix any problems with computers, but the police claim that he also installed spyware on computers in order to obtain Nude photos of the ladies.



Trevor Harver worked for Rezitech and was a Mac repair specialist. He installed a program called Camcapture for his clients.

According to the police, he created a comprehensive notification system that informed him that the victim was now at home. He received notifications on his smartphone, after which he took pictures using the victim’s webcam and saved the photo to his hard drive. The police found on his computer thousands of photos of women from Los Angeles.

This story was revealed like this - one of the computers (after the repair by the vigorous representative of Rezitech) got into service at the Apple Genius Bar. A local technician discovered that from time to time strange messages appeared on the Mac OS interface. The approximate text of the message is “Internal sensor malfunctions detected. If you cannot fix them yourself, try putting your laptop in the range of warm steam for a few minutes to clean the sensor. ” Thanks to this, some ladies took a computer with them when they took a shower.

An Apple Genius Bar technician discovered Camcapture and called the police.

Potential victims should check the / Library / WebServer / Documents directory for Camcapture files.
