Hyperkin Launches SupaBoy Portable SNES Console
Earlier on Habré they already wrote about an interesting new-generation game console from Nintendo, Wii U, which differs in a number of functions, design and other features from the usual game consoles. But there is a device that will appeal to those who are still nostalgic for the good old SNES. Hyperkin has created a hybrid portable SNES console that allows you to play good old games by inserting a good old cartridge into the familiar slot. Of course, there are differences from what was before.
Firstly, the console body looks like a joystick with its own color display (diagonal of 3.5 inches). Secondly, you can play using the hardware buttons on the console itself, or using the controllers connected to this console. In addition, the console itself, of course, can be connected to a TV.
At the E3 exhibition, a prototype was presented, which was quite workable, but still a prototype. Developers say that over time, a more functional device with an improved design will appear. Of course, the Chinese have long released universal devices with displays on which you can run thousands of games, ranging from 8-bit consoles to games from PS one. However, it is already clear that SupaBoy is not for a wide audience, but exclusively for geeks who would like to play by inserting a cartridge, connecting joysticks, and not just downloading the ROM of the corresponding game from the Web.
I don’t know if the geek will agree to pay $ 80 for this device (well, or $ 79.99) - that’s how much SupaBoy will cost when it enters the market. This exit will take place in about six months, so whoever needs it, do not miss the moment.
