Choosing a manager’s workplace: iPad, HP Touchscreen, Viewsonic VPAD ...?

Each manager and manager at any level needs a mobile tool for operational participation in the work of the company, regardless of their location. Today this statement does not require any additional argumentation. On the one hand, the rapid development of high-speed mobile networks - 3G, 4G, etc., played a role. On the other hand, the mass distribution of tablet devices, first of all, the iPad, made the program interfaces so convenient and intuitive that the highest-ranking executives voluntarily joined the users, transferring the work with computers to their assistants and secretaries.

Of course, the iPad was the most popular mobile device among executives. There are known cases when at first a batch of iPads was purchased, and then the task was set using the already received iPads to provide the necessary tools for mobile work. At the same time, the class of transformer notebook devices (for example, HP Touchsmart) is undeservedly forgotten. The growing number of tablets from other manufacturers of Samsung Galaxy, Viewsonic ViewPad, etc. are also ignored. Again, over time, it turns out that iPad's, with all their convenience and originality, present not only advantages but also disadvantages.
In our work every day we hold in our hands three of the listed models - HP Touchsmart, Viewsonic VPAD and, in fact, iPad.
I will try here to collect general impressions of the work of everyday use with these devices in general, and about the specifics in terms of working with documents and organizing the workplace of the head.

Let's start with the simplest - technical specifications.

Actually, this small table clearly confirms what we already know. iPad is the lightest, and according to the manufacturer, the most autonomous (up to 10 hours without recharging). And at the same time, the iPad is the only device that does not have a USB connection.
The usability, performance and availability of software is much more difficult to compare. About it - in the next post.
