For job candidates - no more than 5 interviews

Going through the largest influx of job seekers in its history , Google makes interviewing easier. From now on, the maximum number of interviews is limited to five (this number does not include telephone conversations, of which there may be several). Previously, the number of face-to-face interviews with a potential employee could reach 12-14, says the head of the HR department, Laszlo Bock.

The company also reduces the number of intellectual puzzles during interviews (questions like “Why round manhole covers” have been banned for a long time). This test was part of Google’s corporate elitism. But after numerous complaints from candidates, he was recognized as subjective.

In 2011, Google plans to recruit far more of the 6,300 people who recruited in the record year 2007. Laszlo Bock refused to name the exact number, but the goals were ambitious. In general, the Google leadership considers the search for talented employees in such huge quantities one of the most difficult tasks that the company now faces.

To combat the bureaucratization of large corporations, Google is trying to divide employees into small work groups, as well as provide more information transparency. Simplification of the hiring process also serves this purpose.
