CHM help for PostgreSQL 9.0
By the nature of my service, I very often use PostgreSQL help , starting with version 8.x. And if earlier on the site’s documentation page it was possible to find a help file for downloading CHM , then for version 9.0 (I believe that further) there is no such possibility. I’ll immediately answer why it’s unbearable to use the online version - the documentation consists of 1036 topics and, in addition to everything, I don’t like the search on the site. It is also worth noting that the table of contents tree in the CHM version speeds up navigation ten times, some way!
My good friend, a passionate lover of Perl'a and part-time habrazer habazlamset about creating a utility capable of compiling help in the CHM format from the set of html / sgml files that are supplied in the source with the server. It was a success for him. The only thing that needs to be improved is Indexes (keyword search). However, even without this, using such a manual is a hundred times more convenient than using an online analogue.
For all suffering link: postgresql-9.0.chm
UPD: The main chimus of the CHM format for 1036-dark manuals is a full-text index, without which Dontsov can be read just right, and the post-Congress manual is crazy! habazlam
UPD: Who can’t start the file, right-click on it, then Properties -> Unlock. The problem of the CHM file "downloaded from the Internet." My fault - it was necessary to put in the archive.
