BIT-2011: Make an investor believe in you!
The next competition for startups has begun accepting applications! This time a big prize pool and many interesting opportunities for the development of your projects in the global market!
The success of previous BITs is due to the fact that this competition allowed to unite students and employees of leading technical universities, scientific organizations and business schools to bring innovative ideas to the market.
For the first time, the BIT competition was organized with the support of the MIT Russia Business and Technology
Initiative in 2003 on the basis of leading technical and economic Russian universities: the Higher
School of Economics, the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and the Financial Academy under the
Government of the Russian Federation.
Now BIT is a federal competition. In the 2010-2011 season. as part of BIT
HSE 10K (SU-HSE), BIT-Siberia, BIT-North-West, BIT-Volga,
BIT-Far East, BIT-Ural, BIT-South, BIT-Baikal and BIT-Kazakhstan competitions will be held . Any participant can
apply both to "their" regional / university, as well as to the all-Russian BIT.
The BIT Supervisory Board includes representatives of the main sponsors of the competition, leaders of the
Russian innovation community, as well as winners of the BIT competition of previous
seasons, which form the “Club of BIT Winners”.
Since December 2010, Richard Kivel, President of MIT Enterprise Forum, has become Chairman of the BIT Supervisory Board .
Participating in BIT is honorable and useful
The goal of the BIT contest is to initiate the creation of new technology companies, to raise
their investment attractiveness, to enter the Russian and international venture
markets and to promote the development of an entrepreneurial culture in the Russian high
tech sector .
The prize fund of the BIT 2011 competition is 5 million rubles (including the prize
funds of the regional BIT competitions). In addition to money, the competition’s prize fund is filled with
non-monetary rewards and prizes, in particular, the opportunity to participate in the
international business plan competitions IBTEC (Berkeley, California) and MassChallenge (Boston,
Massachusetts).
As part of BIT, an educational program is being conducted that allows participants
to get the necessary skills to create a successful business, as well as events for
team building (team building), allowing entrepreneurs to find useful
team members.
However, the main thing in BIT, as in the Olympic movement, is not victory, but participation, the opportunity
to join the entrepreneurial ecosystem. By participating in the competition, each team will be able
to acquire innovative and entrepreneurial skills, receive competent feedback
from project mentors and judges of the competition, and also “show up” with potential
investors (the BIT judiciary includes representatives of the Russian and American
community of venture investors, business angels and entrepreneurs). There will be
undoubted benefit from this . Well, already if you win ....
