Wired UK with personal covers

Some readers of Wired magazine received the January issue of the original form. The cover seems to be torn and under it under the motto “Your life is now open” is a personal message to the reader. He is called by name and very private facts from life are listed. It’s strange to see this on the cover of a magazine.

Journalist Benjamin Cohen (Benjamin Cohen) published the cover of his magazine , painting only the most sensitive places with a black marker. He says he was most shocked by the latest sentences in the text (Wired employees rummaged through his Twitter account).

The editors of Wired admitted that they chose the address of the special issue among the most influential bloggers and journalists so that the PR campaign would be as effective as possible.

I must admit that the idea is not entirely original. Reason magazine used a similar trick in 2004 when it sent readers personalized versions of the magazine with satellite photographs of their houses on the cover. By the way, then also the topic of the issue was the erosion of privacy. This is such a thing of privacy - it is buried and buried, but it does not die in any way.
