404fest, augmented reality report and presentation
This year I was a speaker at the wonderful 404fest . The report was entitled “Everyone Heard About Augmented Reality. But not everyone knows how and where it can be applied. ”
How to talk about augmented reality to make it interesting? An obvious solution was found: to build a report on the technology that will be discussed. A presentation was developed using special markers (QR codes). In total, 21 markers were to be drawn. They should all be different. This is a long and dreary work. And our programmer came up with another obvious solution. He simply took and used 21 letters from the Latin alphabet, adding a small square for asymmetry. This is what my printed materials looked like:
Talking about augmented reality is useless. This is a must see.
Herehere you can see part of my report on the video. Thanks to the guys for posting.
I hope that the official video will also appear on the festival website soon .
In the meantime, I am happy to post the presentation that I gave to everyone.
You can download it from our website and, just in case, from the people . Archive size: 220 Mb.
Inside the archive:
Installer: setup_arp404.exe
Manual: comments on the presentation.pdf
Markers: markers
Just in case, system requirements:
· Webcam (built-in or external) is the main one. Without it, it won’t work at all.
· Operating system Windows XP / Vista / 7.
· Intel Pentium 4 processor or equivalent.
· Video card GeForce FX 5xxx / Radeon 9xxx.
· 512 MB RAM.
430 MB of free disk space.
Feedback and comments on the case are welcome.
Happy viewing.
