    So, we are TechnoCrash.ru , a professional crash test laboratory for mobile devices, including phones. “Release” at the end of September, at the end of October were invited to STS in the program “Infomania”. It was invited, that is, from our side there were no body movements. Here we partly fell into the stream (there was a thematic techno-crash week on STS), partly the wow idea worked, although of course you cannot call it a genius.

    Since one of the founders had some experience in interacting with the media, she was able to avoid a frank rake. So:



    1. Quickly think, quickly do. Television men are always very joking - broadcast in 3 working days, and during this time you still have to mount it. In our case, everything was somewhat complicated by the fact that the renting studio is Moscow, and we have headquarters in St. Petersburg, and some employees are remote and are even further from Moscow. I had to quickly motivate employees on a business trip, especially since the shooting fell on the weekend.

    2. The paper of the person paints.In our case, the urgent question was that we would go far, and the shooting would fail for some reason. Therefore, it is better to ask for the following piece of paper - it confirms some obligations, and even if the shooting does not take place, then from the point of view of PR it can be useful later.

    3. TV without “wow” does not live.You must understand that in terms of format, most TV shows do not imply depth, even if the transfer is thematic. Wow far outweighs the immersion in question. In our case, the producer immediately caught fire and offered to conduct a full testing cycle, but when he found out that it takes four full working days, he immediately became sad. Thus, it is necessary to prepare in advance for them the top dressing of the most interesting facts, personnel, etc. In Technocrash, everything was somewhat complicated by the fact that there is an emphasis on the meticulousness of tests rather than on entertainment (for the latter, competitions of “folk crash tests” are held separately ), but they managed to dig up something interesting.

    4. Equipment.In our case, it exists and it is problematic to carry it. I had to quickly make mobile versions. However, they obviously will come in handy more than once.

    5. Do not wait for mega-attendance. “Infomania” at 00:30 on weekdays is, of course, not a transfer for housewives at 11 am Tuesday, but also not “Galileo” on Sunday prime time. As you can see from the graph, the attendance growth was on, but it coincided with the publication of the resonant test HTC Desire , so it’s difficult to make clear conclusions.

    In any case, it is obvious that some% of the increase in terms of brand recognition has occurred. The formation of the market for “crash tests of mobile devices” is also important for us, and this probably also helped. A certain percentage of people who watched the program and didn’t even go straight to the site can then remember “something like that” when choosing the next phone.
