Cisco CCNA / ICND1 for every self-respecting system administrator

    Introduction

In the 3rd year of university, I got the subject “Computer Systems and Networks”. The subject outlined in general terms about the OS and networks, I was interested in this topic and it was one of the first subjects that I was interested in, I bought a couple of little books on this subject. and began to study the issue in more detail, I especially liked the book “ Computer Networks. Principles, technologies, protocols ”! But in fact, I studied this for myself and when hiring, there was no special confirmation of deep knowledge in the OSI model and the TCP / IP stack.
As a result, time passed, I finished the university slowly moving up the professional ladder and when planning the next shift of work, I decided to somehow confirm my knowledge with any of the MS or Cisco certificates. I started to study the issue in more detail and decided to stop at the Cisco courses (I initially thought that Cisco was very cool, difficult and generally for a mega guru :)), and study MS on my own with books.

    About the courses themselves

    Cisco networking academy
After searching for courses, I decided to stay on a 3-month course on Cisco CCNA directly from the Cisco Networking Academy . The courses are held at one of the Moscow Institutes at pretty reasonable prices (I won’t write exactly where they wouldn’t think that the advertisement, but in principle from the information that I already wrote google for 10 minutes, I think it’s not difficult) for the entire CCNA course I gave 35 TR Considering that the total duration of the courses lasts about 72 full hours (not academic). Those who worked on this issue I think will understand all the pros and cons of such training.
Well and now, after completing the full CCNA course, I can say for sure that everyone who has something to do with networks should have a ccna level, it doesn’t matter how - self-study, half-year courses or 10 day-time courses, the main thing is that the knowledge is not on a piece of paper ( dumpovye) and real.

    About CCNA

Generally, anyone who has not encountered this direction and does not know what they are studying on ccna, thinks - “What for me CCNA? I have never seen Tsiski in my eyes. ”
But in fact, this course, as it turned out, was absolutely for beginners. It all starts with the basics, from which you even sometimes sometimes start to smile and smile, just because I understood how good it was that I didn’t go to 10-day courses for 80t!
In fact, CCNA is divided into 4 chapters, and also includes 2 sub-courses ICND1, ICND2:image
    1) Fundamentals of the basics - OSI model, TCP / IP stack and other network technologies - the material is presented very competently and structured, after going through the first chapter, everything fell into place in my head, I knew 70% of the information before, but all this the information in my head dangled in a chaotic manner, and now everything is clear and understandable.
The first chapter has nothing to do with Tsiski ...
    2) Routing - this chapter discusses the routing technologies, static and dynamic, and sobsno configuration on the tsiska of all these routing protocols, but even if you exclude Tsiski and their configuration, the chapter is very useful since all dynamic routing protocols are considered in great detail and thoroughly, given that out of 3 protocols there is only one purely tsiskovskiy (EIGRP) and all others including statics can be implemented on all other glands including * Nix systems.
This, by the way, ends with the ICND1 course, so ICND1 is generally very weakly related to cisco hardware.
    3) The 3rd chapter is shorter than the first 2 in general terms, it is about meshing into VLAN, VLSM subnets, etc.
    4) The 4th chapter is already more focused on configuring Tsisk - VPN, secure hardware configuration.
ICND2 just includes the 3rd and 4th chapter.

    conclusions

As a result, I really regretted that while I was studying at the university I didn’t take such a course, the order in my head didn’t bother anyone, but a beautiful inscription in the summary that could be confirmed would be only a plus. That’s why I think that those who are interested in the direction of networks and administration, the CCNA or ICND1 course will not be superfluous at all, but will only be a big bold plus, but how everyone will decide how to get this underestimated status and status, it was more convenient for me to go to courses and listen to the teacher, it will be easier for someone to read a couple of books and not spend money on the teachers.
