Why you should not buy Sony Ericsson products in Ukraine, and probably in general
The topic was written in order to warn new buyers from a rash step, as well as cry in a vest.
In general, in the summer of 2009, my old Samsung i320 smartphone that served me faithfully began to shamelessly, because by pure chance I had DR in the summer — I decided to give myself a present, first formulated the requirements — it should be qwerty like i320, winmobile since I “I live” in Outlook, I have GPS - I’m tired of uploading Googlemaps screenshots when I’m driving somewhere, it should be convenient to use it well and GPS determines a large screen, as a result I got a couple of candidates - HTC pro, SE X1, TS 900, Samsung 700 is some kind of model and another HTC model isn’t Omnyu. I read the reviews - samsung dropped due to poor GPS, Toshiba due to not being able to talk, one HTC as morally obsolete with wild weight, HTCpro and its twin SE X1 remained.
The choice was difficult, the price was about the same $ 500, HTC has an accelerometer, SE a metal case and does not look like a plastic toy. In general, I chose X1.
I started reading, I learned that there is a batch of defective devices in which the case spontaneously crack, the batch was small and made until March 2009, the marriage was recognized by the manufacturer and he, the manufacturer, changed the case without talking. In general, it’s not fatal, I thought that I would be lucky.
I bought a phone in Mobitrade, a very large store in Ukraine, as you can see from the prescription - they specialize in mobile phones, I bought a “white” and “certified” phone with a 1 year warranty despite an almost $ 100 overpayment. The phone turned out to be released in May 2009 i.e. sort of like without marriage.
I used the phone for about 3 months, after which I noticed cracks in the case, in general, I was upset, unfortunately it was at this time that I had some personal problems and I decided to postpone the trip to the service center since there was still time, while the phone continued to fall apart and I was afraid to even breathe on him, until he completely fell apart, I decided to fix it.
I chose a convenient day, went to the SE website and found the authorized SC closest to me, it turned out to be “Ravis” SC on Rusanovka, took all the pieces of paper and went, I come to the SC to the designated address and see the sign of Nakia, I go in and see 5-6 racks with managers for each person of 10 in the line, everything is in the hands of “for some reason”, and everyone is cursing with the manager when his turn comes up, in general, he has taken a turn when my turn comes up, I give the girl a phone, and we get the following dialogue:
M: you know SE does not work with Ukraine, we ship them first for examination "on the plant" if they say that beyond repair then do something, but it will be a very long time "- in general made it clear that" I can change my mind, "
I am in turn makes the round eyes and asked," You SO Ravis, the address is such and such? ”
M: yes
Me: in this case, I want to give you this phone for repair and want a free repair - with the word “free repair” the girl was clearly nervous about
M: but you have mechanical damage
I: yes, these damages were officially recognized by SE as a marriage and a warranty case, and I think you as an authorized Service Center know that
M: you first come to us with a problem - probably goes to talk to the head of the
M: come, take phone calls without the root issues and said that will call and where to look in the internet repair status
I am interested in this saying After repairs such nonsense will not happen again
M: I remind that the first with such a problem, and they say everything will be ok
After 3-4 days, the phone turned out to be repaired - in general, the fairy tale about the plant turned out to be sticky, I come to pick it up, as it turned out to completely replace the case, keyboard, buttons - in general, it’s normal, but the pipe began to creak, which wasn’t cracking, well, thank you at least So.
Further the most interesting ... passes 2 !!! weeks and the case (already new) is cracking again, having straightened nerves with beer I decide to hand it over to the damn mother "not yet begun."
I called the seller - I remind you of Mobitrade, I tell the situation, I get the answer “no question, just come and take everything”, I’m going to the store where they only tell me when they see the device that they can’t talk about returning until the conclusion of the SC about that it cannot be repaired, I’m interested in what kind of conclusion if I have a second similar failure for the warranty period - I get an answer that the law on consumer protection in 2007 was amended and this is no longer an occasion ... I’m coming home, I read it really pancake.
I’m going to SC “Ravis”, I explain that I need a conclusion about non-repairability, the manager says that they say “they don’t give this, they are not an expert commission but SC”, I go to the director, I talk to him and he asks the girls to give me a certificate that I have again “The guarantee case is not my fault”, I also get a comment from the manager “why, we have a lot of buildings - you will come at least every day for me” ... damn it, but somehow I was like “the first in the area”.
I come home angry to impossibility, draw up an official skarg to the store where I state my thoughts, reasonably indicate why this drawback is significant, my requirements for the store are generally taught like this, not a skarg but a song, I attach copies of all documents - I personally bring one to the store the second I receive a signature on acceptance for consideration.
I’m waiting a week - silence, I’m calling - the store manager says “yes you were sent an answer almost immediately”, okay, I write off the mail, I’m waiting for another week - I’ll call again, another manager says “oh, they forgot to send the answer now, we’ll send” ... I went nuts, I get it in 3 days a letter where it says that “you were refused because the SC recognized this malfunction as one that it can fix”, the fact that I insisted on recognizing the malfunction was essentially simply ignored, no examination was appointed.
I write the cart by e-mail to the SE support service, after 3 days I get an answer that they are VERY sorry but SE closed the representative office in Ukraine and they do not have official dealers, they do not have business relations with the Mobitrade store, they can’t influence you - fuck yourself in short, if that I don’t like the address in Moscow where you can write a complaint.
In general, I scored, it became broke to go to the consumer protection committee, the phone is falling apart, the guarantee has passed - I’ll go free to repair in Ravis for my own ... in general, if anyone thinks about buying an SE phone, think again.

Since many in the comments say that the absence of an SE representative is normal and they’re not welcome here, I explain, in accordance with the law of Ukraine on consumer protection, I can, “AT I WILL”, either contact the seller or the MANUFACTURER to terminate the contract of sale , well, you understand - the SE company officially froze when I suggested that they want to break the contract, they solemnly informed that “ONLY to the store” because “well, we don’t have a representative office where you could contact.”
