To switch to another update channel, change the app.update.channel parameter to: release for releases, beta for beta versions, nightly for daily builds, or default to disable updates. The parameter is changed either by installing the Update Channel Selector extension or by editing the file <installation directory> \ defaults \ pref \ channel-prefs.js

To disable the compatibility check for add-ons in about: config, create the extensions.checkCompatibility.4.0b parameter of type boolean (logical) and set its value to false
