Google Opens Firehose Buzz API

    Today, Google announced the opening of an API for Google Buzz, which will give developers access to all the information published in Buzz in real time through PubSubHubBub syndication . The API is called Firehose. According to Google, this is one of the most requested features requested by the developer community.

    Some Google partners already use Firehose on their projects. You can also see examples of this use there: Collecta , Gnip , OneRiot , Postrank Analytics and Superfeedr's Track .

    Before launch, the following features were added to the API:
    → feeds with user comments;
    → feeds with like materials for users;
    → reference mention counters in Buzz;
    → geotagging user activity.
