Opened Yaroslavl and Naberezhnye Chelny

Literally at the end of last week, the list of cities in which DoubleGIS is distributed was replenished with two more: Yaroslavl and Naberezhnye Chelny . Both cities are open under a franchise program , within the framework of which it is planned to open a dozen more cities this year.

What does it mean “discovered the city”?
For those who have been using DublGIS for a long time and know all the features, this information is most likely not to be a discovery. However, the lively discussion in one of the previous posts eloquently suggests that the issue requires clarification for those who live in the capitals, for example, and have not heard anything about DublGIS yet.

The fact is that unlike other mapping services, DublGIS was originally conceived and to this day remains a directory of city organizations combined with a map. Therefore, for us, the appearance of the next city in the list is not just a point on the map: in each city we have an office in which operators, cartographers, sales managers and other specialists work, who collect and verify reference and cartographic information on a daily basis. I’ll talk about the work of our call-center and the department of cartographic production in one of the following posts.

In other words, we do not set ourselves the task of collecting a map of the world at the very least, because the main task of DublGIS is the most comprehensive and up-to-date directory of organizations for each specific city. That is, the information that most of our users need in everyday life.

Of course, this does not exclude the fact that a world map appeared in DublGIS, for example, but this is a completely different story.
