HTC Desire - impressions

Three weeks ago, I bought a HTC Desire. After this time I can share my impressions.

The device as a whole is successful. I got used to it a couple of days, no more. Everything works quickly and without glitches. At first, it bothered me that he was losing my network. When switching WiFi -> EDGE and 3G -> EDGE, but then it turned out that the matter was in the old SIM card MTS. I changed the SIM to the new Megafonovskaya and everything was fine.
The case with a screen of 3.7 ”is certainly not small. With one hand, reaching all the buttons is problematic. We have to intercept. The case is high-quality - without squeaks and backlashes. However, not oversized, slippery. And I want to “rubberize” it. Buttons when necessary are highlighted. The optical trackball hurt at first, but after a few days learned how to get around it. The USB port is reasonably made at the bottom, even while charging, you can use the device.
Locking / unlocking in two movements like on the iPhone is a pontoon, but not practical. A simple mechanical slider on the side, as on the Nokia 5800, is much more convenient.
Screen. AMOLED is saturation and contrast. In my European opinion, both of these are too much. I had to make the photos of the relatives that I drag on the phone knowingly paler, otherwise it simply knocks me down. With all this, in direct sunlight, the screen fades, you have to look in your own shadow. There is some kind of coverage on the screen. It gets dirty from fingers less than Spica. The sensitivity of the sensor on the screen is excellent. The response to touch is adequate.
The sound is good. Both in the speaker and in the headphones. Perhaps the bell should be made a little louder, but maybe I'm already deaf. The voice in the handset sounds very natural like in a good MP3.
There is no point in describing the telephone interface. It is known that the HTC Sense shell is the most thoughtful on the market. And so it is. I must say that Sense is so closely intertwined in Android 2.1 that it is completely impossible to understand where one ends and the other begins. HTC offers the ideology of using full-screen widgets. In this case, turning the desktops as it turns into a switch between tasks.

Touch Input virtual keyboard is smart . For three weeks, the need to put something alternative did not arise.
There is an integration of the phone book on Facebook, Flickr and Twitter, but some kind of inferior. That is, for example, you can attach a Facebook profile to a contact, but I still do not understand how to send a message directly from a contact.
The camera, from my photographic point of view, is quite good. It starts quickly. There are enough settings. I just wish that the white balance settings were more “at hand”, otherwise they were hidden far away.
For a powerful processor you have to pay less battery life. The device lasts for one day, no more. You can charge both from the network and from USB, but charging from USB is noticeably (at times) slower than from the network.
They already wrote about Desire here, so I do not put this post on the Android blog. Ask if that ...
