Samsung developed a USB monitor for PC

Samsung Electronics developed an 18.5 '6.3W LCD power monitor and showed it at SID 2010. At the company's booth, the monitor was connected to a computer via USB 2.0.

It was possible to reduce energy consumption by increasing the transparency of the panel and the efficiency of the backlight. A TN panel is characterized by a transparency of 0.93, but the company declined to comment on specific technologies used to improve transparency.

The display is equipped with LED-backlight at the edges of the screen - LEDs have a higher efficiency than those used on existing LCD monitors. However, their lifespan is 30,000 hours, which is 20,000 less than current LEDs.
The diagonal screen size is 18.5 inches. The display resolution is 1366 x 768 pixels, the maximum brightness is 250 cd / m2, the contrast is 1000: 1.
