RapidShare AG has sent warnings to owners of the sites Rapidshare.net , Rapid.org (formerly Rapidfind), Rapidshare4movies.com and others due to the fact that they encourage users to download pirated content from RapidShare, thus illegally using its trademark.
The owners of these sites should immediately cease their illegal activities and transfer their domains to RapidShare. In addition, the company, through WIPO arbitration, has already begun the removal of the domains music-rapidshare.com, rapidshareprime.net, rapidshare-catalog.com, full-rapidshare.com, easyrapidsharedownloads.com, rapidshare-search-tool.com and rapidsharese.com.
Distribution of such requirements is part of the new RapidShare strategy, in which it demonstrates an active fight against piracy, working with copyright holders. In the future, file hosting plans to begin legal action against the users of the service themselves, who distribute illegal content.
