I didn’t expect this from myself

However, one I would not have done.

This is a desktop clock for real madmen

In fact, they are, of course, smaller (the scale is adjustable):

There is also a hint mode:

    Key features:
    • Instead of numbers, `` freaks '' are displayed . Each digit has its own icon.
    • When the mouse flies over the clock, a hint appears with the usual numbers.
    • There is a built-in alarm clock.
    • The watch “sticks” to the edges of the screen.
    • The watch is very easy to customize.

    History

Probably the Habr will never cease to amaze me. Some time ago, I announced a small zoclock project on the hub . And just a few days ago, pixilang wrote to me (we hadn’t known him before, I used to use my zoclock) with ideas that could be “improved”. It was not even about improvement, but about a completely new approach ( demo from pixilang ).
    I really liked the idea.
    • In one evening, a working prototype was written - a subject for discussion.
    • Over the second evening, functionality was added - the fruit of discussions.
    • Another evening - on the design of the project on googlecode.
    Everything: http://pixiclock.googlecode.com/ .

    What is written on

    Python + Tk.

The code contains a number of non-trivialities, which, perhaps, someone will be interested to see. This application immediately refuses the services of a window manager and manages its own window on its own ... In short, who cares - welcome.

    Plans

Design. pixilang assumes to complete the mechanism of skins (and I agree; only it is necessary to think over technical details, formats ...; if habra-people have thoughts - welcome!). Skin example:

    Example letters:

(Now the numbers are drawn by me, so they are so brutal)

Functionality. I have long had an idea to make a small desktop-gadget that listens quietly to some portico, and when any data arrives there, it displays this data on the screen. Then in cron you can put simple scripts that monitor servers, check mail, or simply remind you that it’s time for lunch, otherwise everything will be eaten up in the canteen. I think to make such a universal megabudnik / napaminaminik / monitor from this thing.

Misunderstandings. I would like to make the option “on top of all windows”. But it turned out that on Tk it’s not very clear how to do it. I am sure that there is a Tk guru on the hub Answer me! Thanks.

And of course, any suggestions and wishes are accepted.
