"Movie posters" featuring NASA astronauts

    imageFor each space mission, starting with STS-96 in 1999, when the American shuttle docked for the first time with the ISS, the Kennedy Space Center graphic department created posters for each mission.

    While some of the first posters created for the SFA were “gray” and boring, they later developed into artwork that depicts space expedition teams in the style of Hollywood movie posters.

    Here you can see for example films such as: Oceans 11, The Matrix, Star Wars, etc.

    The main goal of the STS-126 expedition is to equip the ISS US segment with equipment and materials in the Multipurpose Supply Module, after which the station became ready for work on its crew of six people. This is the last flight of MMS Leonardo.

    Main goal: Delivery of scientific equipment and spare parts for the ISS, including: six spare batteries, spare parts for the Canadian robot manipulator Dextr, a spare radiator, airlock, a European manipulator for the Russian multi-purpose laboratory. Delivery and installation of the Russian Docking and Cargo module, which will be docked to the lower port of the Zarya module.

    Main goal: Delivery of scientific equipment in the transport module "Leonardo". The Leonardo module packs new berths for ISS crew members, products and clothing for the ISS crew, a new laboratory freezer, a sports simulator, spare parts for a water recovery system, experimental equipment and racks with consumables.

    The STS-129 mission is the first of the final shuttle missions, the task of which is to deliver large-sized and critical spare nodes and devices to the station. Such devices include, in particular, orientation gyroscopes and tanks of station cooling systems.
