Windows Phone 7: new video, multitasking and a single development for three platforms
Two videos shot by the participant on a mobile device leaked from the TechEd Middle East conference. The first video demonstrates the same game that runs on PC, Windows Phone 7 and XBox360. The video further demonstrates one single solution in Visual Studio 2010 for simultaneous development for all three platforms. The video shows that all resources and most of the code are the same for all projects, allowing you to make one game under three platforms at once, with a minimum of effort.
In the second video, under the cut, demonstrates the work with the device, during which it is clear that after switching to the browser, the page is already open in it. This indirectly confirms the presence of multitasking in Windows Phone 7. Another multitasking option is demonstrated right there: one of the browser tabs is attached to the main window as a tile, which will be updated when the content of the page changes. Thus, the application in Windows Phone 7 will be able to work in the background updating its state.
We are looking forward to the MIX'10 conference (will be held March 15-17), during which the full disclosure of the capabilities of the new platform is expected. At this event, more than 10 reports about WP7 are planned.
