From time to time, I see in my publications the anticipation of an early mouse retirement. There were two noticeable exacerbations - after the announcement of the Microsoft "table" and after yesterday's Apple tablet.

The acronym HCI stands for human-computer interface. Humans have their own physiology. It is more convenient to read and watch when the surface is upright, but with your hand to drive it on a horizontal surface.
Therefore, the interfaces combining the screen and the input device have not yet taken root. We don’t take any PDAs and highly specialized things - there input is limited in volume and time, and switching to classical methods instantly raises the operator’s productivity.
