Self-motivation: my 5 cents to talk

    Everything ingenious is simple!

Recently, I started reading Gleb Arkhangelsky’s book “Organization of Time” . Literally forced myself. Before he started, he belonged to the category of people who “ do not have enough time to read a book on the organization of time ”.

And with me, changes began to take place right before my eyes. And not only did I feel them myself, but my relatives and friends noticed the changes.
I think the secret lies in the simplicity and adaptability to the Russian realities of the tools proposed by Gleb.

    Step # 1

I must admit right away: I have not yet finished reading the book, but it already acts on me. In the first chapter, immediately after the introduction, Gleb offers to keep track of his actions. What does this mean in practice: every 15-30 minutes you need to write down in a notebook what you have done during this time. My records there looked like this:
    • 10:00 - woke up, washed, did exercises
    • 10:15 - had breakfast
    • 10:30 - lazy, talked on the phone
    • 10:45 - was lazy, sat down to write an article on Habr
    • 11:00 - was lazy, an article on Habr

    * I really do exercises at least 2 times a day - very tones! In the morning for a warm-up, literally 10 minutes, closer to evening - power.
In order not to forget to make notes, I set a timer on the phone. The book is persistently asked not to change your rhythm of life and to record actions as honestly as possible. There is a curious life example described in the book that no one was able to live the old way for more than 2 months. Apparently, this is true. I lasted 2 days, after which I chose for myself the first and simplest improvement in my pastime: 45 minutes I devote to work - it can be work, or as it was in my case a week ago - preparation for exams. 15 minutes - useful distractions. I wash my dishes, iron, tidy up - household chores.

    Step number 2

The second step I took: I formulated goals and subgoals, sometimes even specific tasks that I need to do in all areas of life: home, work, study, self-development. I wrote it on a piece of paper in a gadget called a notepad, which automatically appears at my startup (thanks, Google). Looking at him, I see a lot of options for classes that will lead to the fulfillment of certain goals, and in total with the motivator in the form of the amount of time killed for nothing, it gives its fruits and encourages useful activities.

    Total

I recommend people interested in self-development or looking for motivators to try this method - timing their actions. At best, read a book; the book outlines many tools for goal processing and planning. Its just interesting to read.
