1000 events in 1.5 years
Hello!
For a long time wanted to promote IT-Event.Ru on Habré, but did not dare. And so it happened :) yesterday the announcement of event # 1000 was published. I dedicate this short PR topic to this significant date.
The idea to collect information about Russian-language IT events, structure and lay out in one place was born in the summer of 2008 during the work on the site of one IT company (this company, like many others, has an “Events” section on the site). Then the work on the site began, which is still being carried out slowly.
It turned out that the most important thing to structure the information, because it became difficult to find the right event after a couple of months. Now events are categorized by city, type (exhibition, seminar, etc.) and key topics (PHP, Testing, Social Networks, etc.). For each section there is an RSS feed, incl. it’s not necessary to constantly visit the site. In addition, by registering, you can specify interests (using keywords) and create your own feed of announcements.
In addition to event announcements, the site periodically publishes presentations and feedback from participants, sometimes video reports. You can register for some events directly from our website. You can offer an announcement for publication here .
IT-Event.Ru is not perfect in terms of usability and cannot keep track of absolutely all the events, but it seems to me that there is no more complete database of events on the RuNet and the service can be useful to both participants and organizers.
I will be glad to criticize and rat. suggestions.
UPD: The site overtook the habraeffect ... thanks for understanding. :)
