The PC-BSD team wishes everyone a happy new year and is pleased to present the PC-BSD 8.0 beta (Hubble Edition), which is based on the recently released version of FreeBSD 8.0 and the graphical environment of KDE 4.3.4
The most notable changes:
- Basis of FreeBSD 8.0-Release
- KDE 4.3.4
- A completely new installation system (can install both PC-BSD and pure FreeBSD)
- Finally, LiveDVD is implemented (starting the system directly from DVD)
- Updated package manager (allows you to view / update / install)
- Ability to install 32-bit packages in the 64-bit version of PC-BSD
- NVIDIA drivers updated to 195.22 (for both i386 and amd64)
