The legendary Contra and the unknown Gryzor. What are the differences?

    imageimage

Many in childhood had the prefix "Dandy." (Which is actually called differently. It doesn’t matter.)

Almost everyone knows the game Contra , where two rolls appear on the main menu. One of them, for example, is very similar to Schwarzenegger. It begins in the jungle. The super-duper fighter (or fighters, in a two-player game mode) is thrown onto an island where some alien creature has developed. It is necessary to get rid of it with the help of a whole arsenal of different weapons, which for some reason is replaced by one another and falls into our hands exclusively in flying capsules.

But it's not about the plot. Actually, what many played was a truncated copy. The full version of the game is called Gryzor . Unfortunately, it contains texts in the native language, i.e. in hieroglyphs, and unreadable to most.

Nevertheless, the game differs to some extent from the fact that in the end we all went through a hundred thousand times. With what?

    1. At the first level, you can notice the movement of foliage. From the wind or not - it does not matter. In Contra, all this is static.
    2. There is a character image between missions. Getting instructions, apparently.

    3. In the game between missions there is a map on which the diverse world of the mysterious island is clearly visible.

    4. At the Snow Field level, snowfall is implemented. In a stripped-down version of this, of course not. It’s hard to see the snowball in the screenshot. After all, this is static. But if desired, it is possible.

    5. At the last level, Aliens Lair (the alien’s den), when approaching the boss, everything starts to move. (For those who have forgotten what the boss looks like. The environment is organics on the ceiling and floor).

    6. At the end of the game, the helicopter after the destruction of the boss does not just fly away from the island, which in turn is smashed to pieces. The scene is cut out as the main character gets into this same helicopter.

If you didn’t go through Gryzor, you don’t know what it is - I recommend downloading some emulator and trying it. Games for 20 minutes (taking into account the possibility of preservation), but there are a lot of memories and pleasure!
