On December 1, Google named the most popular search queries of 2009. The fastest growing requests in the United States were Michael Jackson, Facebook, and Tuenti. The fastest losing ones are beijing 2008, euro 2008 and heath ledger.

In Russia, the fastest growing popularity of the query "windows 7". The most popular requests were “download”, “photo” and “classmates”. It is worth noting that the name of another large social network, “Vkontakte”, fell only in tenth place in the ranking.
